The Social Clubs provide the setting for a dynamic, crucial component of Parisian life: socializing. They are places where ladies and gentlemen go to relax and enjoy a quiet drink, to gamble, or even to discuss important business. Being a member of a social club is exceptionally important if you wish to excel within the city. Belonging to one of the more exclusive clubs can be a ticket to social promotion and wealth and also allow you to develop personal friendships with influential, higher-ranking members of society.
Of course there are social clubs that cater to the lesser-renown citizens, and one can even find clubs where the lowliest peasants gather to mingle among their peers. As you advance in society, expect to gain enough stature to have the ability to apply to more prestigious clubs; perhaps you will even someday belong to the glamorous Fleur de Lys and socialize with the noblest folk of the land.
